Masoud now has his own club. The man who brought you EARTH at DC Live, STEEL at Ozone, and everything at Papermoon now has his own club. At the time of this writing, Eleventh Hour is the hottest club in DC. The club is very unique layout with plenty of lounge and dance space.

The club has only been open for about a month now. Only the true party people are hanging out there at the moment however, this is a club on the move. I loved the atmosphere, the people, and the music although I wish they could play a little more house music (I still don't know how to salsa). Here you will find every race, nationality, and sexual preference with one common attribute - cool!

Food is available if you get there early. It took a while for us to get a waiter, but after we did and ate, he subtracted one of our entrees from the check because of the delay. This shows that Eleventh Hour is a 1st class place. The hostess was very accommodating. Everyone is attractive.

If you are bored with the DC club scene as I am, check out Eleventh Hour. I can almost guarantee you will have a good time. The only negative I can think of is the drink prices. They were not quite New York City prices of $8.00/drink, but it was close. If you get there before 11:00PM you don't have to pay a cover. However I would imagine that this may change soon as the club becomes more popular. Call the number above to find out if any guest list benefits are available.

Parking
Valet parking is available. If you have a really nice sports car, the valets will park your little baby in front of the club.

Be careful in this area. It is becoming very popular now, but has a reputation for crime. Don't park on Church unless you have good insurance. However, if the Wholly Mammoth theater is in session they have a security guard available during their shows on Church Street.

Started in conjunction with legendary Washington, D.C. House Music DJ Sam "The Man" Burns. Sam plays on Saturday nights here. The 27 and older crew will remember Sam from Sunday nights at the old Chicago's night club on DuPont Circle. This club receives Tony's number #1 ranking because it is the best house music I have ever heard in DC!
Parking
Parking is relatively easy in this area. You can park on Jefferson or Connecticut Avenue.

The Fifth Column reopened September 6th as The Bank. The Bank was the name of this spot when it originally opened as a club over 10 years ago. The Fifth...excuse me...The Bank is the like NYC's Limelight. It is the grandfather of nightclubs. However, these guys can still put the "C" in club. Make no mistake. The Bank is a nightclub. Unlike hybrid bar/clubs like Polly Esters The Bank features some of the best DJs to hit Washington DC, including regulars like Michael Meacham and Mohawk Adam.

If you are looking for the party people in DC, they currently have residence at The Bank, Red, and The Capitol Ballroom. However, you better act quick, the party people are fair weather nightclub fans. As soon as the tourist from Kansas catch wind of The Bank, it may go back downhill. However, I guess it would return as The Fifth Column.

Parking
You compete with patrons from The Ritz, The Vault, and The Bomb for parking, but a couple of pay parking lots are located at the corner of 9th and E Streets.

TAEK-ONE in the front spinning spinning hip-hop, and soul. Darren Hymes spinning Deep house music in the back.
Saturday
Same as Friday, but with DJ Earic Patten in the back room.
Sunday - Sam "The Man" Burns
Simply the best house music DJ in Washington.
Other / Review
Sunday Sam "The Man" Burns spins underground house music in the front room. If you want to know the meaning behind the phase "House Music All Night Long", go the State of the Union on Sunday! Sam is the King of house music in Washington DC. The house people follow him wherever he goes.

State of the Union is THE place to be on Tuesday nights as Grits & Gravy DJs Mike Johnson and DJ AJ (formerly of 88.9 FM) spin soul, jazz, disco, and old classic hip hop in the front room.

On the weekend, State of the Union is a club staple for me in DC. State gives you two types of DJs - hip hop and House. In they front room the hip hop, baggy pants, puffy coat crowd can groove while us house people can hang out in the back room with DJs AOESI & CLARK. State of the Union specializes in all types of tap beer and vodka. Click on their link above and print out a coupon for a free shot of vodka and to check out the up to date live music. I think you may even be able to eat there, but I have not had a chance to try anything yet.

Parking
You can park in the parking garage of the Reeves Center until 2:00AM on the weekends. Otherwise park on 14th Street since it is well lit.

Habana Village is probably the best place in DC for Latin dancing. As you can see from above, lessons are given here also. All classes are $10.00 per person for 2 hours except for Tuesdays which are $5.00. I am just starting to get into Latin music and dancing. A former girlfriend turned me on to it. Once you try it out you will get hooked by the sexual high energy.

The 18th Street Lounge is very unique in Washington DC. This is the place for the most trendy DC club goers. The scene is laid back and hip. Great place to take a date if you can get in. The club has been around for a while now, but you will see no sign denoting it's presence. If you don't know about the "Lounge" it probably is not your cup of tea.

You may have seen a small line outside this doorway and thought it was a private party. In many ways it is. However, I can sum up the Lounge with one word -- "Cool".

Parking
If you have a nice car, try to park in front of the club so the club doorman can see that you must be one of the "A List". If you have a hoopty or an American car, park as far away as possible.

Tracks has been around a LONG time. It has the best sound system in Washington DC by far. Saturdays are the best time to go to Tracks. The music is excellent every night, but Saturdays has a little older crowd than Fridays. However, if you are straight, I would advise you to take a date.

Of course, the Tracks original outdoor volleyball court is still alive with grilled hotdogs and hamburgers available near the outside dance floor.

Parking
If you get there early, you can park in the Tracks lot. Make sure you do not park far away from the club. South East DC is not exactly a good area. However, it is safer than the old days.

OZIO has been in DC for a few years now, but it was primarily a very trendy cigar and martini bar. It is now mainly a very trendy club. Oh yea, you can still get great cigars and martinis, but the emphasis is now on dancing and picking up someone of the opposite sex. As you can see at the top, the cover charge is $20.00. If you are a drinker this is not bad because you get 2 drink tickets with the cover. Drinks at OZIO are about $6.00 each so you do the math. If you don't drink I guess you are just SOL, but if you are interested in OZIO I would guess that $20.00 is not much to you anyway. You probably tip your doorman at the Watergate more than that.

Dress to impress because everyone here looks like they just stepped out of the lastest issue of GQ and Vogue. The competition is stiff, but if you play it right you should be able to find a cutie. Although I struck out last time I was here, I did give my card to a cutie. (Cutie - if you are reading this, CALL ME!).

OZIO has a very diverse group of patrons with a strong international presence. The dude that helped create OZIO originally, has opened another bar near 16th and U Streets, N.W. called Chi Cha. If you are looking for more of a bar scene, you should check out his lastest creation. It is very unique.

As you can tell by the description of the music at Paper Moon, it has a very unique niche in DC. I enjoy going to Paper Moon. It is certainly not one of my favorite clubs, but it very nice for a change of pace. I like the unique mix of music and cultures that are present there.

If you are getting bored with the DC club scene and have not been here, check it out. It might become your club of choice. Masoud and his folks give partys with an international flare that should be experienced. We live in an international city and this is reflected by Masoud's partys. I have to take my hat off to them for their effort to revive the DC club scene.

Sesto is a small club located in what seems to be DC's club district along 18th street. Sesto is unique because it a restaurant during the day and it has no cover charge. The crowd and music are highly diverse with a strong international dance theme.

Sesto is like a mini OZIO. Same type of crowd without the $20.00 cover.

The only negative thing I can say about Sesto is that the line for the bathroom is too long. They only have one toliet in the men's room. We sometimes have to go across the street to Planet Fred's to use the bathroom.

Parking
Lots of clubs around here. However parking is not too bad if you don't mind walking a couple of blocks. For DC this is a fairly safe area.

Once the premier nightclub in Washington, Zei seems to be showing its age a little. The club has 3 levels, but only 1 level of dance. If you are not a member or do not know a member, you feel like a second class citizen because you will not have access to the upper levels which contain a bunch of party people and fat cats with very nice cars parked in the garage next door. The setting is very industrial. The building looks to be an old factory of some type. I love the sound system!

Zei's state-of-the-art sound system give it 3 stars.
