Masoud now has his own club. The man who brought
you EARTH at DC Live, STEEL at Ozone, and
everything at Papermoon now has his own club. At
the time of this writing, Eleventh Hour is the
hottest club in DC. The club is very unique
layout with plenty of lounge and dance space.
The
club has only been open for about a month now.
Only the true party people are hanging out there
at the moment however, this is a club on the move.
I loved the atmosphere, the people, and the music
although I wish they could play a little more
house music (I still don't know how to salsa).
Here you will find every race, nationality, and
sexual preference with one common attribute -
cool!
Food
is available if you get there early. It took a
while for us to get a waiter, but after we did
and ate, he subtracted one of our entrees from
the check because of the delay. This shows that
Eleventh Hour is a 1st class place. The hostess
was very accommodating. Everyone is attractive.
If
you are bored with the DC club scene as I am,
check out Eleventh Hour. I can almost guarantee
you will have a good time. The only negative I
can think of is the drink prices. They were not
quite New York City prices of $8.00/drink, but it
was close. If you get there before 11:00PM you
don't have to pay a cover. However I would
imagine that this may change soon as the club
becomes more popular. Call the number above to
find out if any guest list benefits are available.
- Parking
Valet parking is available. If you have a really
nice sports car, the valets will park your little
baby in front of the club.
Be
careful in this area. It is becoming very popular
now, but has a reputation for crime. Don't park
on Church unless you have good insurance. However,
if the Wholly Mammoth theater is in session they
have a security guard available during their
shows on Church Street.

The Fifth Column reopened September 6th as The
Bank. The Bank was the name of this spot when it
originally opened as a club over 10 years ago.
The Fifth...excuse me...The Bank is the like NYC's
Limelight. It is the grandfather of nightclubs.
However, these guys can still put the "C"
in club. Make no mistake. The Bank is a nightclub.
Unlike hybrid bar/clubs like Polly Esters The
Bank features some of the best DJs to hit
Washington DC, including regulars like Michael
Meacham and Mohawk Adam.
If
you are looking for the party people in DC, they
currently have residence at The Bank, Red, and
The Capitol Ballroom. However, you better act
quick, the party people are fair weather
nightclub fans. As soon as the tourist from
Kansas catch wind of The Bank, it may go back
downhill. However, I guess it would return as The
Fifth Column.

Sunday Sam "The Man" Burns spins

Union on Sunday! Sam is the King of house music
in Washington DC. The house people follow him
wherever he goes.
State
of the Union is THE place to be on Tuesday nights
as Grits & Gravy DJs Mike Johnson and DJ AJ (formerly
of 88.9 FM) spin soul, jazz, disco, and old
classic hip hop in the front room.
On
the weekend, State of the Union is a club staple
for me in DC. State gives you two types of DJs -
hip hop and House. In they front room the hip hop,
baggy pants, puffy coat crowd can groove while us
house people can hang out in the back room with
DJs AOESI & CLARK. State of the Union
specializes in all types of tap beer and vodka.

The 18th Street Lounge is very unique in
Washington DC. This is the place for the most
trendy DC club goers. The scene is laid back and
hip. Great place to take a date if you can get in.

OZIO has been in DC for a few years now, but it
was primarily a very trendy cigar and martini bar.
It is now mainly a very trendy club. Oh yea, you
can still get great cigars and martinis, but the
emphasis is now on dancing and picking up someone
of the opposite sex. As you can see at the top,
the cover charge is $20.00. If you are a drinker
this is not bad because you get 2 drink tickets
with the cover. Drinks at OZIO are about $6.00
each so you do the math. If you don't drink I
guess you are just SOL, but if you are interested
in OZIO I would guess that $20.00 is not much to
you anyway. You probably tip your doorman at the
Watergate more than that.
Dress
to impress because everyone here looks like they
just stepped out of the lastest issue of GQ and
Vogue. The competition is stiff, but if you play
it right you should be able to find a cutie.
Although I struck out last time I was here, I did
give my card to a cutie. (Cutie - if you are
reading this, CALL ME!).
OZIO
has a very diverse group of patrons with a strong
international presence. The dude that helped
create OZIO originally, has opened another bar

unique.
